Bogus ancestries, for want of a better term, have been the bane of the existence of genealogists for years, but in the advent of the internet as a research tool, those errors that were once less commonly found, are now everywhere it seems. Part of the reason for this is that it is now much easier to share the information we have found, both good and bad, and there seems to be less interest in verifying that data before passing it further along.
